Slideshare

In the beginning slideshare was some what difficult, as you examine all the different tools in slideshare it become less difficult. This was my second powerpoint presentation that have done i had to rethink all the tools in powerpoint. Slideshare and powerpoint is great objective for students to learn different ways of learning. Instead of normal lectures and textbooks. The use of techology is used in a postive way, for example by inserting pictures, graphics, and music into your presentation. Making the lesson a little more interesting.

My unit plan is Life Cycle of Plants. By using the subjects of Mathematics, Language Arts, and Social studies the student could learn the different techniques in the life cycle of plants in three subject. In mathematics the student could how to construct a class garden, collect daily or weekly data of their garden. Language art the students can write a paper on the advantages and disadvantages of the class garden that the students observed during their project. My social studies lesson will be group project. The students will get in groups compare their data and make a graph, also have to make a presenation on the class garden.

The Warlick view

David Warlick is a author and well known blogger. He blogs and writes ideas that would help you develop a well rounded classroom. This is the link to David Warlick blog http://davidwarlick.com/2cents/.

Before I started this class I did not believe in blogging. Now that I have experienced blogging, and found good ways to express blogging in the classroom. Also during this course my peers could share the experiences they have had with blogging.

I believe blogging would have more participants in the classroom. The students could have a journal for their language arts class. Instead of writing their reflections in a sprial note book they could do them on the computer. More students enjoy being on the computer, with parents help they could make entries together. That would increase more parent and student involvement.

inquiry and project based

EQ: Are flowers important?
This is a great question because it allows the children to explore things around them that they may take for granted. This will expand the knowledge of science as well as intrest then in investigating the enviornment around them.
Unit Questions:
UQ1: What is the life cycle of a flower?
UQ2: How do we take care of flowers?
UQ3: What do flowers do for us? In learning the life cycle of a flower, and the importance of plants in our world. The children will enhance their knowledge of their environment, and the benefits of everyday plants. This will encourage students to investigate their everyday surroundings.
Inquiry based learning and project based learning are tools for students to increase their knowledge and social skills. Inquiry based learning is design for a student to "seek the truth, information, knowledge , or information by questioning" (Concept to Classroom 2004). This learning process begins with a birth of a child observes actions of others, and tries to imitate the same actions. Individuals will mirror the actions that they see, although they are not always correct the knowledge is stored. Inquiry learning begins as a framework in the classroom develops into a "stresses skill development and nurtures the development of good habits in mind" (Concept to Classroom 2004). An activitythat introduces Inquiry based learning would be a how-to project. In the students' science class they would demonstrate and build a garden for their classroom. This activity allows them to explore and it their is no exact way it can be done. Fusion Inquiry based learning is a website i found pertaining to components and activities an inquiry based learning. Project based learning is a small collaborative groups that teaches students real world problems and challenges (edutopia 2008). As students begin their assessments they gain a deeper knowledge on their subject they are studying. The components that are used are more updated approach to research, for instance using the Internet and other various sources. The teacher illustrates more technology usage in the curriculum and activities. An activity that would encourage knowledge of technology could be a year book project. This project would introduce several aspects of technology.
